Strike up the band. Gather your shakers. Get your red and black gear ready. It’s almost time for the Troy University Homecoming Parade 2023 in downtown on Saturday, Oct. 7th, at 10 a.m.
About the Troy University Homecoming Parade
We’re officially two weeks away from the Troy University Homecoming Parade, which means there is still time for you to make your plans! In fact, you still have four days to sign up to participate for free.
Hosted by the Pike County Chamber of Commerce, the theme for this year’s parade is “T is for Troy.” You can choose to walk, ride in a vehicle or create your very own homecoming float. All you have to do is create a sign or display that demonstrates what “T is for Troy” means to you.
The parade starts at 10 a.m., with the lineup beginning at 8 a.m. on South Three Notch Street. All floats and vehicles must be in place by 8:30 a.m., and all walking groups need to be there no later than 9:30 a.m.
But before the parade on Saturday morning, there are a few other fun things to do to get in the spirit!
More homecoming events
Kick off the excitement of Homecoming at the Pep Rally on Thursday, Oct. 5th, at 6:30 p.m. in the Trojan Arena.
Each year, the city shows its Trojan Pride by hosting a free band party for residents, alumni, students, faculty and staff. So, the fun will continue at the annual Downtown Concert on Friday, Oct. 6th, on the square at 7 p.m.
Then Saturday morning starts things off with the parade, followed by the football game against Arkansas State at Veterans Memorial Stadium at 3 p.m. Interested in going to the game, but don’t have tickets yet? No problem! You can still purchase your tickets ahead of time.
Location
Make your way to downtown for the upcoming Troy University Homecoming Parade 2023. The parade route includes South Tree Notch Street up to Elm Street. Remember, the streets and interior parking area around Downtown Square will be closed that morning.
